Join Mother Lode Harvest (MLH), a local CSA, in celebrating the autumn harvest on Saturday, September 30, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm, surrounded by the vineyards at Vino Noceto in Shenandoah Valley. The event is called “Our Bountiful Foothills: a Farm-to-Fork Dinner Under a Harvest Moon,” and it is a time to rejoice in the tremendous fruits of our farmers’ summer labors, with the Harvest Moon traditionally being the full moon closest to the autumnal equinox.
We will start the celebration with a gorgeous array of appetizers and fine Vino Noceto wines while we tour their market garden, created through a partnership between Vino Noceto and MLH farmer James Hackworth.
We will be enjoying the music of the Amador City All-Stars as we feast on a Mediterranean-inspired dinner, bid on wonderful items in a silent auction, and watch the sun set beyond the vineyard. The meal will be locally-sourced, and will feature beef from Winterport Farm in Ione, grilled by Laughton Ranch of Jackson. There will also be a vegetarian option, a myriad of late summer vegetables, and gluten-free pear tart for dessert. Vino Noceto wines and Amador Brewing Company beer will be available for purchase to perfectly accompany the delicious meal.
Tickets to the event are $50 for MLH members, and $55 for non-members. They can be purchased at our Distribution Center at 1235 Jackson Gate Road in Jackson, on Tuesdays 10:30 am-12 pm and 4:30-6:00 pm. They are also available on our website at www.mlharvest.com, and by mail. The proceeds raised will be used to upgrade our website, and to sustain our CSA.
For more information about the event, or to purchase tickets, please call Greta at 209-257-1694 or Michelle at 209-419-2503, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Tickets to the 20th annual Winefest in Sutter Creek, the popular walk-about wine-tasting event sponsored by AmadorArts, will go on sale September 1st. The actual event is Saturday, November 11, from 4:30 – 9:00 pm when guests stroll historic Main Street and enter 25 shops to taste a huge selection of fine Amador County wines. There’s a cap on the number of tickets to be sold. Tickets are $40 each in advance, or $45 the day of the event. By using a credit card through www.amadorarts.org , your printed PayPal receipt is your Winefest ticket. The website also lists the places to buy tickets locally.
On November 11, Winefest participants’ first stop is at the Sutter Creek Auditorium starting at 4:00 pm to check-in, pick up wine glasses, wristbands and maps. From 4:30 to 7:00 pm hit the shops and start tasting. Just remember: the law states that no wine can be in your glass when you’re outside the shops.
By 7:00 pm, return to the Auditorium for the Winefest festive Grand Finale, which will feature live music, desserts, sweet wines, the popular Mystery Wine-in-a-Bag Auction and the final call for auction final bids on the sumptuous silent auctions for Art, Wine, and a Table for Premier Gifts and Travel Packages.
Now’s the time to contact your friends, book your dinner or lodging reservations, possibly a limo, and generally prepare for this greatest fundraiser of the year for AmadorArts. Proceeds of the 20th annual Winefest provide much-needed funds for arts in education in local schools and in the community. AmadorArts is a non-profit organization that has been serving the county for 35 years. Visitwww.amadorarts.org or phone 209-267-9038.

On Saturday, August 19 at 6:30 pm Feist Wines continues its summer concert series gypsy jazz on the patio with Sacramento band, Jazz Gitan. Feist serves seasonal wood fired pizzas, small plates and desserts by local pastry chef Ingrid Fraser. Barrel tasting of Feist’s next vintage will be available for the evening.
Jazz Gitan is an acoustic jazz ensemble that carries on the tradition of gypsy swing created by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli during their domination of the Paris jazz scene in the 1930s. Their music is the swinging jazz of the 30s and 40s, plus a cross-section of songs from the modern Gypsy Jazz repertoire and original compositions by lead guitarist, Don Price. They combine latin, blues, swing, and original style to create a high energy Parisian experience.
Pizzas available will range from the Bianca with chevre, summer squash, and wilted greens ($15) Pepperoni with Arugula ($16) and House Made Sausage and green olives ($16). Organic salad and dessert by local pastry chef Ingrid Fraser are also on the menu. A variety of small plates like Marcona Almonds, Mixed Olives and Artisan Cheese and Charcuterie plates will be served. Tickets are $10 and are available atfeistwines.com or at the tasting room. There is no charge to wine club members.
