Keep America Beautiful - start locally
Since April is Keep America Beautiful Month, Lawn & Garden Month, and National Humor Month, we thought we would start a dialog about keeping our town and area beautiful. There are many contributions we can individually make by picking up trash, being responsible pet owners, and helping our neighbors. What are some of your ideas? We’re going to commit some resources to contribute to this effort and will post some of this activity on our Facebook page.
Lawn and Garden Month is a little more challenging with our continued drought, but there are many minor changes we can do to conserve water and beautify our yards. Statistically speaking, half of outdoor water is used to water your lawn. Some possibilities could be to replace some or all of your lawn. Doing some web research about rock gardens gives interesting design ideas. Another option is to look into native plants which typically require less water overall.
As far as celebrating National Humor month, the best joke / story that’s e-mailed firstname.lastname@example.org before April 15th wins a Free dinner on any Saturday night through May…and that’s no joke!
Laura at Wright’s Country Sports:
Laura Wright recently purchased Rendevous Primitive Arms and is excited about her new business. Because of regulations in the industry, she can’t use the same name so she has worked hard in re-branding the store to Wright’s Country Sports. Be on the lookout for a new sign and website. If you haven’t been inside the building, it’s fantastic.
