Amador County’s Savor Amador 2015 showcases local winemakers and Farm-to-Fork tapas to benefit Sutter Creek Elementary Schools

Local winemakers fund art and music programs with Amador County food and wine

On Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 6 9 p.m. four of Amador County’s star winemaking families will come together for a unique evening pairing Amador County wines with farm to fork tapas direct from the gardens of Amador County. Savor Amador will be held at the Bella Grace tasting room in the middle of downtown Sutter Creek.  This town is home to nine wine tasting rooms.

The Havill family has generously donated their historic venue for the event, Bella Grace is housed in a beautifully restored home and garden built in the 1860’s.  Five years later the Brignolia family purchased the home and lived in it while they built an empire supplying the gold industry with supplies, amassing a fortune, and buying up the town.  Join the Sutter Creek food and wine families in this building definitive of Victorian charm to celebrate the connection between local food and wine.

Savor Amador will feature the wines of Sutter Creek families Bella Grace Vineyards, Karmere Winery, Drytown Cellars and Feist Wines.  San Francisco chef Darius Somary, a recent transplant to the gold country will pair regional dishes with the award winning wines.

Guests will dine al fresco to the jazz of Jack Tone Riordan and his band. Riordan is a Sutter Creek Elementary graduate and son of local favorite teacher Lottie Tone. Of Riordan, SF Jazz Hotplate says, “one of the Bay Area's most gifted guitar players. He first caught our ear in Wil Blades' band, and blew us all away with his relentless chops and deep sense of soul.”
These winemakers know that it takes a lot of beer to make wine and the good folks at the newly opened Provisions will be hand selecting a keg of craft beer to serve for the evening. ($5 donation/ beer)
