Come celebrate the autumn harvest and learn how to support local, sustainable agriculture at the Mother Lode Harvest Fall Quarter Open House on Sunday, September 30, from 12 Noon to 4 pm at 1235 Jackson Gate Road in Jackson, behind Teresa's Restaurant. Mother Lode Harvest (MLH) is a local food and farm products association made up of producer members who use sustainable growing practices, and customer members who enjoy access to healthy, local food year-round.
The open house is an opportunity for the public to meet MLH's producer members, talk to them about their growing practices, and sample some of their tasty products. There will also be demonstrations of how to shop on MLH's website, a raffle of produce boxes and logo tote bags, an array of delicious, local-food appetizers, and scarecrow-building for the kids.
This event is free and open to all MLH members, as well as anyone who would like to learn about local foods, the association, and local sustainable farming. Bring a cooler or shopping bags, as produce and other products will be available for purchase. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 209-419-2503.
